We’re excited to be welcoming artist and photographer Jonathan M. Castillo to the Samuel Maenhoudt Gallery family. We will be representing Jonathan and showing his “Car Culture” series at Photo LA 2020.

This series brings an aesthetic reflection on abstraction, focusing in particular on the effects of structures, textures and colours taken from the urban environment. The artist stops his gaze on insignificant details that are very present in our daily life. ‘Urban Traces’ consists of a set of detailed images of pedestrian crossings or ground markings in megacities around the world.
This marks the artist’s first solo exhibition at the gallery. The artist is best known for his abstract photographic work.
Opening reception in the presence of the artist Friday August 3, 18:00 – 21:00.

On view at De Wielingen 3 in Knokke-Zoute, this is the artist’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. The artist is famous for his spectacular aerial images and brings a new body of “Up in the Air” work shot along the Belgian seaside.
